What I currently have is the USB/PPI Multi Master cable 6ES7 901-3DB30-0XA0, and I've read several posts claiming that the USB/PPI cable can only be used for transferring programs, not for running WinCC Flexible Runtime, and what I would need is the RS232/PPI cable. However, whenever I attempt to connect to the PLC I have been getting communication general errors no matter what settings I try in the communications tab of WinCC and the set PC/PG control panel (I do know that these need to match, that I should be set to 19.2 Baudrate, etc.), althoughI am able to connect fine with Step7 Micro/Win for programming the PLC.įrom my research in these forums I believe that the problem lies in the cable I am using to connect to the PLC. As I already have WinCC Flexible I believe that the best way for me to do this is by using the PC as an HMI running WinCC Flexible Runtime. I am trying to usea PCto log and view the values of several addresses in my s7-200 226 CPU.
